About the Artist

Lize-Mari Pretorius (Lima) is an artist from Hartenbos, South Africa. Her love for all creatures great and small shines through in her artwork, with dogs being a central theme. Discovering the therapeutic value and joy of art at an early age, she studied Drama at university, where she spent countless nights painting and building sets for theatre pieces. Her artistic journey took her from set construction and stop-motion animation to winning national art competitions.

As a devoted dog mom, she was thrilled to collaborate with Goofles and support its mission. Lize-Mari’s creative process involves "dog scrolling" the internet for inspiration, then translating those moments into beautiful illustrations that capture the spirit of dogs. Lize-Mari believes that art can entertain and raise awareness about the importance of our role in the lives of dogs. As long as there are silly dogs in the world, she will continue to find her muse.
