Friendly dogs are welcome, and we ask that all participants ensure their dogs are comfortable being around other dogs.

Walking in a group adds an extra layer of safety, especially during the winter months when it gets dark earlier. The well-lit, familiar surroundings of Brooklands Park make the walk both safe and enjoyable for everyone.

3. Consistent Routine

Is your dog ready to socialise?

To make sure everyone has a great time, it’s important to know if your dog is comfortable around other dogs. Dogs that have been well socialised from a young age tend to enjoy group settings like this.

Here are a few signs that your dog might be ready to join the Goofles Weekly Community Walk

  • Calm behaviour around other dogs

Your dog remains relaxed, with a wagging tail and easy posture, and is happy to greet other dogs.

  • Positive past experiences

Your dog has previously enjoyed being around other dogs, whether on walks, at the park, or during playdates, without showing signs of aggression or fear.

  • Responsive to commands

Your dog listens well to basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come,” even when there are other dogs around.

If your dog is still learning to socialise, it might be a good idea to start with smaller group walks or one-on-one playdates before joining larger gatherings like the Goofles Weekly Community Walk.
